Dr. Riggs relocated from Nova Scotia to join our team in 2003. She became an owner of the practice in 2010. Dr. Riggs is married with a daughter, a son, three cats, and a whippet. Her interests include triathlon, being active outdoors and camping with her family.

Dr. Madden joined the hospital in 1997 as a new graduate. She has been an owner of the practice since 2001. Dr. Madden lives in the country with her husband and two dogs. When she’s not busy with work you might find her hiking in the York Regional Forests with her Border Terrier and German Shorthaired Pointer.

Dr. Kratochvil, or “Dr K”, is our newest associate. She grew up in Richmond Hill and returned to practice here after starting her career in the United States. Dr. K enjoys traveling, music, and baking and shares her life with her 2 cats, Buddha and Nuggit.

Nancy has been a vital member of our team since 1995. She has seen many changes within the hospital including her own role. Nancy had been practicing as an RVT for many years before taking on the position of Practice Manager. She is married with three daughters. She has been an active member of the Multiple Births of Canada as a benefit of having fraternal twins. Her life is also shared with four cats and an active chocolate Labrador retriever. While at work, she still enjoys assisting with surgery.

Janet became a new addition to our team in 2009. She is married with two kids and two very busy Boxers. She keeps herself busy with walking her dogs, baseball, volleyball, being a hockey mom to her son and at the soccer fields with her daughter. Janet has a special interest and skills in the area of veterinary dentistry and enjoys continuing to learn new techniques within her field.
Arlene has felt a strong bond with animals her entire life. She joined our team in 1996 to fulfill her calling. She is married with a son and shares her life with a dog named Bicks (pictured here), three cats and one angry bunny. Arlene’s interests include animal behaviour, art and exercise. With her additional training in canine and feline behaviour, she assists our Certified Dog Trainer during the puppy socialization classes held at the hospital. Arlene has a soft spot for animals and has opened her heart to helping many rescued animals find their forever home.

Wendy joined our team in April of 2004 and feels very fortunate being able to incorporate her secretarial skills and her true passion – animals. She is married and has two dogs and two birds. Taffy is a Border Collie cross and Tanner a German Shorthaired pointer cross. Max is a lilac crowned Amazon parrot and Casper a Lutino cockatiel. Wendy’s interests include spending time hiking with her dogs, reading, video games and petite point.
Claudine moved from the city for a more relaxed atmosphere both in her job and homelife. She has previous vet experience from her childhood, and is very happy to be working with animals again. She has 3 grown children, two of which are married. Claudine shares her home with 3 cats, Shadow and Darla pictured here as well as Finny. Her passions are Gardening, baking and exercising.
